Born in Bermuda in 1997, Sckye Dickinson completed an associates degree of Art and Design (Honors) in 2017 at Bermuda College. She went on to obtain a Bachelors of Fine Arts majoring in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing at Nova Scotia Art and Design University and is projected to graduate in 2021. Dickinson’s work is inspired by the island that she lives and grew up in. Dickinson has interned for one of the top jewellers in Bermuda at Gem Cellar, where she used 3D CAD programs to design custom jewellery for locals and persons overseas. While she does use traditional jewellery techniques and materials, she mainly focuses on alternative materials. Recently she has been using 3D printing for mould making, silicone and rubber to create organic forms inspired by Bermuda’s sea life. Her organic sea forms act as an augmentation to the body, while bringing a sense of calmness through material and colour choices.

Hi Sckye, it is nice to get to know more about you! I quite liked your pieces you finished this past week for mid term! Your choice of colour really does reflect what you would expect to see in sea life and there is this "live" feeling to how you have put all of the parts together! Great work, I can't wait to see more!
